Q. How can I use Non-Melitta Coffee Pods in my Melitta 1:1 pod brewer?

A. CCB has a limited supply of Melitta 1:1 ‘Universal Pod Holders’ (UPH’s) which allows one to use any standard sized coffee pods sold by Reunion Island, Wolfgang Puck and Molto. The UPH looks very similar to the standard pod holder that one receives with their Melitta 1:1 except for two differences. First, the UPH is slightly deeper to accommodate a slightly larger pod. Second, the standard or smaller pod holder has 3 short horizontal line indentations located half way up the inside wall of the metal cup that actually holds the pod. The UPH has no lines and is smooth all the way round the inside wall. CCB will offer a free UPH to any Melitta 1:1 customer (limit 1 per customer while supplies last) if they order 2 or more boxes of any non-Melitta coffee pods. Simply ask for one in the comments section at of the bottom of a screen during the check out process. (Please note that our new ‘Extra Bold’ - 12 gram pods and Café Invento Pods will not work in the Melitta 1:1 even with the UPH.)

Q. I have the Larger Pod Hold (UPH) and yet my Reunion Island and Wolfgang Puck pods cause water to leak down the sides of my Melitta 1:1?

A. Reunion Island and Wolfgang Puck pods have the words ‘Place Face Down’ printed on one side. Please note that this instruction is NOT intended for the Melitta 1:1 but intended for other pod brewers made by completely different manufacturers. In fact, the opposite must be followed: Place the pod on the UPH with the message ‘Place Face Down’ facing upwards! Then push the pod completely down into the pod holder until no part of the pod is covering the rim. Close lid tightly and brew. This action should eliminate any leaking.

Q. I am using the larger pod holder (UPH) but now my Melitta coffee pods taste weak?

A. The original sized Melitta coffee pods including Buzzworthy, Love at First Sip, Café Kind of Day, Go Hazelnut, French Kisses and Skip the buzz work best in the standard, smaller pod holder. The larger pod holder (UPH) is too large for these pods as water will rush over and around the pods, not through it. Hence a weak cup will be produced. One must switch pod holders depending on the brand of pod. CCB has a supply of the smaller pod holders that can be received FREE with a Melitta coffee pod order. Just ask for one in the comments section at the bottom of a screen during the check out process (limit 1 per customer while supplies last).
